Isaiah 3:8-15
Psalms 16, 17, and 22
1 Thessalonians 4:1-12
Luke 20:41-21:4
Today's reading from Luke tells the story of the poor widow who put two coins into the temple treasury. Jesus says, “All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

Advent is the time we wait for God's greatest gift, our Savior, Jesus Christ. As we prepare for His coming, we have a chance to re-evaluate our faith and how we both acknowledge and express our faith in God. How do we express our faith? Are we only giving out of our wealth or do we have enough faith in God to give all we have?

All our gifts come from God—do we trust Him enough to give all those gifts back knowing that He will provide more? Or do we hold back that tiny bit… just in case?
